While the forest service has reached out for public input, they have not reached out to the emergency and volunteer organizations impacted by the shooting range. When resources are allocated for target shooting incidents, it takes away the ability to respond.
Emergency and volunteer services need to be considered in the forest service shooting range plan. With these stake holders ultimately having to respond to incidents, they should have a voice in how the plan is implemented. They all have stressed how important it is to have the site managed by personnel and have set hours of operation to limit calls to the site.
